Distribution of supplies to day care centers

A couple of Bhoomika Trust representatives, Latha Subramaniam and Usha Sarathy, went to a few villages around Kalpakkam to oversee the distribution of material for daycare centers. These day care centers are located in close proximity to the seashore, and the Dec. 26th tsunami washed away all their supplies. Two of our donors provided Bhoomika Trust with the money necessary to buy supplies for six Anganwadis (day care centers). The supplies include plates, tumblers, mats, slates and dress material for their uniforms. Educational games were also given to each center.

The children and the teachers were happy to receive the new items. The plates and tumblers were put to immediate use in one Anganwadi as we were there just before their lunch break. We were treated to a recitation of nursery rhymes, both in Tamil and English.
