Looking ahead
Just as we mobilized resources in a massive fashion in the wake of the earthquake and the tsunami, we stand ready to reach out to victims of natural as well as man-made disasters in the future, which, unfortunately strike our nation all too frequently. But our heart continues to be in the area of providing educational assistance to underprivileged students, which we believe is a highly leveragable way of giving back to society by helping create caring citizens and socially-conscious leaders of the future.
In the pipeline...
One of the initiatives that we are planning is a Rural-Urban student exchange sensitisation program. The children from the village would get an opportunity to experience life in a city, observe the methods of learning and teaching used in city schools. They would also be provided inputs on what are the various options for higher studies, career options and the opportunities available so that they could work towards achieving these goals. The students from city schools would in turn get a first hand experience of life in a rural setting and be able to interact with the children in the village and the community members. |
